HJMT Public Relations Inc.’s New Intern

HJMT Public Relations new intern

Meet HJMT Public Relations Inc.’s new intern, Anna Julia, in this fun Q&A!

Where are you from?

I’m from Brazil.

Where do you go to school? What is your major?

Universidade do Algarve, Faro, Portugal. My major is in Communications.

Why did you choose PR as your area of study?

Public opinion is something very complex and powerful, and the more I would learn about PR, the more I would want to work with it. Although press releases might get repetitive, there’s always a way to put a little creativity to it!

Why did you want to intern for HJMT Public Relations Inc.?

HJMT Public Relations Inc. is a women-owned business that already got my attention. I also checked out some of the firm’s previous work and awards, and the fact that the President & CEO,  Hilary JM Topper, is so active on social and has so much knowledge in this area – I knew I could learn a lot with the team. It’s been great!

What do you do as an intern at the firm?

I help with SEO for Hilary Topper on Air, social media for our clients, media lists, and we have extra projects as well.

What is your dream job after graduation?

When I got into college I had no idea of what I wanted, but I did figure that my interest in Communications was bigger than I thought. Besides that, traveling is something that really passions me. So, when I think of my dream job, it definitely has to do with the Travel Industry (and PR of course!).

What do you like to do in your free time?

I love cooking, going for walks, I do spend quite some time with my curls (my babies)! It’s really important that I put some music on, my mood depends 100% on my playlist! I also like to play instruments and read.

What’s something you love? What’s something you hate?

Something I love is knowledge, understanding process, cultures, everything really makes me very happy and interested. I don’t think there’s anything I hate more than COVID-19 right now.  But besides that, injustices are something that really make me angry (which is also one of the reasons I work with Communications, after all, it is the fourth power right?).
